For nutrition-sensitive food systems

This policy brief, drawn up on the initiative of the partner institutions, highlights :
- 11 research priorities to direct scientific efforts towards more nutrition-sensitive food systems.
- 7 levers for action to boost public and private investment, improve public policies, stimulate innovation and promote the equitable adoption of nutritional practices.
These proposals are in line with the commitments made at the Nutrition for Growth (N4G) summit held in Paris in March 2025 and ahead of the UN Food Systems Summit +4, which took place on 28 July in Addis Ababa. The objective is clear: to translate promises into concrete, operational and action-oriented commitments.
The policy brief calls for
- Intensify transdisciplinary research, integrating agronomy, health, economics and social sciences.
- Mobilise targeted investment in the most vulnerable areas and in innovations to improve nutrition.
- Strengthen international cooperation around a common agenda and rigorous impact monitoring.
- Include nutrition as a key indicator in assessing the performance of food systems.
